Business Analyst Resume Example
Business analyst is one of the least standardised titles on the market — in one company it is requirements documentation, in the next it is SQL and dashboards, in a third it is process re-engineering. Your resume has to say which one you are within the first two lines.

What a business analyst resume has to prove
Then prove it with the artefacts. Named deliverables — a BRD, a process map, a UAT plan, a migration cutover — are what a hiring manager scans for, because they show the shape of the work rather than the job title.
Professional summary example
Four lines at the top of the page. Lead with the shape of your experience, then one result that proves it.
Business analyst with 5 years bridging operations and engineering in insurance and logistics. Led requirements for a claims platform migration affecting 400 users, and cut manual processing 60% through workflow redesign. I write the BRD and I also run the UAT.

Mistakes that sink business analyst resumes
- Not saying which kind of BA you are. Technical and process BAs are screened by different people.
- Listing meetings attended rather than decisions documented.
- Omitting project size — users affected, records migrated, departments involved.
- Leaving out the domain. Insurance, banking and healthcare BAs are hired for domain knowledge as much as method.
